John & Marilyn Butler welcome you to Bramwood Guest House and to Bramwood Cottages. We fell in love with this charming 18th century Grade II listed property the moment we first set eyes on it and we like to think that you will too. So come and stay with us and prove us right!
There are activities for all tastes and age groups in this part of North Yorkshire, and Bramwood is an ideal base. We are located in the old part of town so within easy walking distance you will find Pickering’s 13th century castle, the Beck Isle Museum of Rural Life, and the parish church with its unique collection of medieval frescoes. Pickering is the terminus of the North York Moors steam railway so indulge in 18 miles of pure nostalgia as you steam through the beautiful scenery of the North York Moors National Park, perhaps stopping off in Goathland (home of “Heartbeat") or continuing on to the picturesque old fishing port of Whitby.
There are a variety of restaurants and cafes just a short walk away and a wealth of unique family run shops.
What else is there on offer? Where do we start? Or more importantly where do you stop? Musuems, ruins, stately homes and gardens, cliff top and moorland walks, fish ‘n chips, renowned restaurants taking pride in serving local produce. Take a look at the following pages and decide what you would like to do on this visit, and the next, and the next…
